  1. I use a Mann W713/9 - which is Eurocar Parts P/N 501670049 I think it's originally a land rover filter. (Might be TD5 vehicles, but not 100% sure)
  2. Not sure, but I think that's the feed (or return) to the heater. So do you have a (working) heater?
  3. Seems to be a recurring theme with fuel pipe these days, even the stuff that claims to be R9! I went to all the trouble of getting hold of some Gates' barricade hose and am steadily replacing all the ones on the Spitfire.
  4. At one time the pattern front shocks had some issues with the spring seat at the wrong height - so worth checking the new ones if you can before fitting, just to be 100% sure.
  5. I'm running standard shocks with slightly stiffer slightly shorter front springs (these I think http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/r.....e-pair-tt4302pr.html ) and I think the handling and ride are excellent. I just had to fit a small spacer to get it looking how I wanted (it was slightly to low) IMHO standard springs ride too high at the front and are too soft.
  6. I'm not sure of the economics or availability of organisers from a club point of view, but if accommodating 80+ on a single event is pushing the venues/organisation then maybe 2 distinct smaller events is the way forward? eg. early in "even" years a gentle jaunt across Europe on a more relaxed pace. (late in "even" years the RBRR) late in "odd" years a challenging European event more in the spirit of the early 10CR events That way every year has a challenging "hardcore" event (in the spirit of CT) and every other year a more relaxed European trip. With more "prestige" events on the calendar maybe the over subscription of the RBRR and (existing) 10CR might be alleviated?
  7. I found something that actually fell off! One of the domed head nuts that holds the case on the K&N filter is GONE! I think that's a brilliant solution to the problem Dirk!
  8. We like the freedom of the current 10CR format. In 2015 we stopped overnight when others did the through the night drive and had to cut the route to catch up the next day. This time we found day 2 really tough - the early start and a really challenging drive coupled with some minor car issues left us and the car exhausted at the end of the day. So we slept in, had a leisurely breakfast, fixed the car and cut the route again. Sure we missed the on-the-road camaraderie that day, but it allowed us to recover a bit and let us do the event in a way that suited us. A more prescriptive schedule/event would probably preclude us from taking part. With just one driver and other issues that have to be taken care of (diabetics can't skip meals! etc) through the night driving is just not an option for us.
  9. I'm not sure we'd be bothered about one every morning, but we definitely thought it was a bit of a shame we didn't have something similar to the 2015 restart at Cortina during this year's run.
  10. Only 1 vehicle as far as I know - the Dolly of the Team Torpedo lads.
  11. If only we'd known/been close by! I had a Spitfire water pump in the boot!
  12. Need to replace the oil pressure warning switch.... the culprit for our oil loss issues. The diff whine that was annoying me before the 2015 10CR has now reached epic proportions and I think a proper rebuild is now the only option. The "clonk" from the rear when breaking after reversing - that needs investigation. The "knock" from the steering when cornering hard - needs investigation. The way it pulls to the left when you brake really hard - I really should figure that one out! And it now seems to be running about 1/8th of the gauge hotter than it did a week ago. (It does that to just annoy me)
  13. For reference I paid $28 + shipping and taxes for a 25 foot length of gates barrier (non-injection) true 1/4" (not 6mm!) hose.
  14. After having repeated problems with both R6 and R9 hoses I bought some of this: http://www.gates.com/products/.....etion-fuel-line-hose Seems to have been fine so far.
  15. There's an ebayer in the USA has them, but the shipping will make your eyes water! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Triump.....20-NOS-/252427773385 Seems to be no longer available at the usual suspects though! If you've got 2 others could you measure them (diameter free length, rate) and find something close from a spring supplier?
  16. Thanks for posting John, I suspect I need to do this to my sump soon!
  17. Do I get to say "told you so!" based on Friday night's conversation! 😉 Hope you all have another great day's driving today, just sorry we are not there with you!
  18. Sounds like something (PWDA, restrictor, master cylinder?) is causing a residual pressure in the brake line between the master and the servo, so the air valve/bypass isn't functioning as it should?
  19. I know that feeling! I'm looking at putting a small resonator/silencer in the mid pipe... until I sort that out I'll be carrying ear-plugs for motorway/autobahn driving!
  20. We found the 5am start and whole day travelling before the event too much last time. This time we are on the overnight ferry from Hull on the Monday, we'll spend a day pottering round and resting in Belgium on Tuesday ready for the start. 🙂
  21. That's a serious drive before you've even started the event! Not sure what you class as northern Europe, but I'm pretty sure we have entrants from Germany and the Netherlands. My Spit 1500 was fairly ok on the autobahns in 2015. probably just a little slow for the people around me!
