  2. I don't have my D14 any more. D1 flat tracker on the other hand... I'm not sure we'll be able to go, but if we do it'll be in the Lemon. I was joking about the BMW, although it is a fantastic car...
  3. I was at a mates house a few weeks ago working on his Mk2 Escort, 'Saxon', which is a signal orange more-door saloon. His inner panels were in this sort of state and the sills etc were bad too. But all the panels were readily available in a variety of qualities and prices for all budgets. Such a shame that Triumphs are not supported in the same way by the aftermarket trade. I hope your hunt for panels comes up trumps. I DID know the whereabouts of a NOS boot floor if you need that too, but I can't say for certain that it's still there.
  4. I'll see what the other half says when she's back from Australia. What's the car requirements?
  5. Unless you have a Demon Tweeks discount code... saves a good amount.
  6. Assume you have taken the interior door latch handle and the window winder off?
  7. Couple more waiting on the door mat this evening, keep them coming please!! Beginner Rob Pearce / Iris Chiu - Cambridgeshire - GT6 Probably Novice Richard Warr / Lynn O'Halloran - Worcs - 2000 Mk1 Dave Maton / Steve Raddley - Herts/Essex - 2000 (2.5) Mk1 Expert Barry Marsh / Paul Marsh - Bucks/London - Vitesse 2L Mike Helm / Colin Wake - Essex - Dolomite Dale Barker / Nigel Abdullah - Herts - 2000 Mk1
  8. You should have seen Charlie and Matt in a Mk2 Spitfire on the summer event that had no roof fitted... I think the paint was still wet too! You would be very welcome to join if you can of course, it's always good to get some fresh faces along.
  9. Cheers Mikey and Charlie, look forward to seeing you there. The more entries the merrier! Next application has arrived, so the new entry list is; Beginner Rob Pearce / Iris Chiu - Cambridgeshire - GT6 Probably Novice Richard Warr / Lynn O'Halloran - Worcs - 2000 Mk1 Expert Barry Marsh / Paul Marsh - Bucks/London - Vitesse 2L Mike Helm / Colin Wake - Essex - Dolomite
  10. Excellent, thanks for the support chaps, I'm hoping that it'll be an enjoyable event for everyone, no matter what class is selected. Like the Warwickshire Scatters I run, if I have a few spaces left I'll open it to non-Triumph's, but I will insist they are classics in keeping with the event etc, so cars built within the time frame that Triumphs were in production for. However, it would be fantastic to have an all Triumph event!
  11. Beginner Novice Richard Warr / Lynn O'Halloran - Worcs - 2000 Mk1 Expert Barry Marsh / Paul Marsh - Bucks/London - Vitesse 2L Mike Helm / Colin Wake - Essex - Dolomite Right, now I just need another 9 entries...
  12. Hmm, that's true actually, on the bigger engines they are 'dampers' not just pulleys... Still, might have a look at doing 4 pot ones.
  13. I'd happily pay a bit for a good 'action' photo on the event, even if it's just leaving the start line. Then the photographer could be set up at the end at Knebworth for the crews to look at the photos and choose to buy one. Then like a lot of these things, the crews could choose individual photos, or a CD of them all etc.
  14. It's a Mk3 spit engine, so small crank. One of my mates runs a machine shop, so if I buy material he often does small runs for me without charging too much for the labour. Might look into it if I can get example of all the front pulleys.
  15. Hmm, I calculate at least 5 different front pulleys... Which ones are worth doing? 4 pot small crank 4 pot big crank Vitesse / GT6 type Mk3 GT6 type 2.5L TR6 etc Type...
  16. Nice kink in the breather hose too. Overall looks a nice example though to be fair.
  17. Morning all, I was looking at one of my spare engines the other day and I noticed that when the PO was trying to remove the front pulley they broke the rim on it where the belt runs. I assume they were using a three legged pulled on it. Anyway, I was wondering, does anyone do aluminium ones? I'm planning on rebuilding the engine as a 'go faster' one, but not a 'race' engine. Figured as it needs changing anyway, I may as well put an aluminium one on if they're available. If not, would anyone be interested if I arranged production of them?
  18. Must be for doing work on the engine etc - quite common on drag racing cars etc to have gauges in the engine bay and in the car so the crews can monitor the engine as well as the driver.
  19. I don't know for sure, but pressure is highly likely to be the same or similar, however, the flow rate could well be different.
  20. That's what I was thinking. It'd be easy enough to get a photographer to the start, and possibly end of the event, maybe Stirling too? Land End... you may get one from Penzance, but I think JOG would be hard to find someone willing to go there. I did mean that the proceeds would go to the charity.
  21. Fair enough. I saw the one in Cov about 5 odd years ago. I know that these were common enough cars in this blue, but the deterioration on the panels reminds me strongly of the one I saw in Cov.
