daver clasper
Hi everyone. Have a mk1 Vitesse i bought 18 months ago. the gearbox was very quite. The overdrive was sticking though on and I may have reversed like this (have fixed overdrive problem and this does not seem damaged) but there is a whizzy sounding rattle in reverse (louder) and first gear.Would this be a shaft bearing (it sounds like it may not be in the depths of gearbox) or is there anything else it may be before I may strip it down. Also, wondering if to leave it for a bit as do low miles and if noise gets worse then do work.Any of your wisdom as always much appreciated.CheersDave

daver clasper
Thanks for getting back to me. I have removed the remote. There is no obvious looseness, play or damage in linkage, though I have not dismantled it. Do I need to?. Also is there anything likely to cause this noise in the selectors under the top cover as I have not removed this.CheersDave
