Triumph Spitfire Cooling

Hello all.

I have a 1974 MK4 Spitfire with a 1500 Dolomite engine. On some pictures I have seen there is a water cooling pipe that feeds into the cylinder head ( marked with the yellow arrow on the picture).

On my engine this water inlet is blanked off? Has anyone come across it?

Not sure, but I think that's the feed (or return) to the heater. So do you have a (working) heater?

that was changed during the 1300 run. On early cars the water for the heater comes from the cylinder head on the later cars it comes via the carbs hence there is a T on the water outlet from the carbs.

Yes, that engine is a 1200 from a mk1/2 spit, so lots of differences.
