Straight Six
Comparing my newly re-cored Vitesse radiator with a spare one I have knocking about, I noticed that one has more vertical pipes in the core that the other - at a rough count one has 26 whilst the other has 36. Was this just a change of design mid way through the production run, or is each radiator designed for a specific model; the 1600 or 2 litre for example? junkuser
Replacement cores are not necessarily manufactured to original manufacturer's specifications.
Straight Six
Fair enough, but the different number of uprights means that the top & bottom tanks are different.
junkuser
That is interesting. What I was referring to was that different radiator manufacturers use different tube layout and fin types but make top and bottom plates to match the original top and bottom tanks. If you have been given a radiator with different tanks it's time to have a talk with the supplier.I thought it was only the tube pattern you were referring to.
