JRidout
Dear All,I have a feeling this will be a simple question. I am changing my radiator on my Spitfire 4 (Mark 1) and I purchased a radiator for a Mark 4/1500, however it arrived yesterday and is much, much smaller? Whats the scoop, do I buy a new cradle , is it the right radiator, will my deflector boards still fit?CheersJR
herald948
It might be a correct later Spitfire radiator, but it appears to be missing the "wings" that bolt to it. See: from CC's catalogue.

CharlieB
The plumbing is different too....
herald948
The plumbing isn't really "different" other than the later radiators have no provision -- or need -- for the hose to the expansion tank that sits atop the carbs on an early Spitfire 4. Richard B
The full width one is much better at cooling your engine. I'd stick with that and have it re-cored rather than fitting the smaller radiator. What size/tune engine do you have?
JRidout
Hi Guys,Sorry was'nt very well so have been off line.Engine is from a 1973 1300 Mark 4 Spit and once I sort this out I have lots of bits and spares from my 4 (Mark 1) which I will be offering up. I may just sell both and get a full width one thats been reconditioned.CheersJR
