Ron
Hi guys,My Vitesse (Mk1) project is completely stripped down and I'm now starting to put the suspension back onto the chassis. I'm having great difficulty in getting the rear shocks to fit the lower mounting on the vertical link. Everything else is now connected, leaving just the shocks. I've tried raising the hub with a hydraulic jack but after a while the whole chassis lifts, leaving the mounting about 5 or 6mm too low to go into the bottom eye on the shock absorber. I'm stumped, any ideas would be welcome.Cheers,Ron
Nick Moore
Partially undo the 6 bolts holding the spring to the top of the diff. That'll allow the spring to lift up when you raise the hub. Otherwise, get several burly blokes to sit on the chassis and stop it lifting!
doctee
Hi,Just checking you have pulled the shock absorbers all the way out, if they are anything like mine they where very stiff when i first stretched them. regards Doctee
