Gene Thomas
Hi allSo tonight I started to strip the rear end of my 72 GT6. Took off this shock only to see the outer casing is from what I believe is an old SAE 20w50 Motor Oil can. If you can see from the pictures its bee tack welded all around. Why bother? Just buy new shocks tight arse. Rant over

rotoflex
Should talk to Canley Classics about opening up a Black Museum annex for this, the wooden piston, etc.
Paudman
Surely 'tis only a protective cover, a bit of lateral thinking to keep the main body of the shock free from stone or other damage?
GT6 M
Nowt wrong wid that, but Id have used a mastic tube. just cos the top is so called bodged, you no no why it was bodged it could have been lost,or damaged.many now are just a plastic cover, some with non at all.better keep sheite off, than nowt at all.M
