jamie31888
:)Hi Guys,Im putting together a mk3 spitfire at the moment. Before taking it apart it was very high at the front, the springs are way to long for the car.Does anyone know where i can get the correct shock absorbers and springs? gfiandy
I bought a set from James Padock, but all the Triumph suppliers will have them. Also check that the rear springs are not low compared to the front.Regards.Andy
jamie31888
Ive rebuilt the rear spring with teflon discs.I just cant seem to find the specified 214144 springs.Which front shocks are correct ? GSA 267 or GSA 366?
gfiandy
The kit I ordered was described as :- GSA366K/1 Front Shocks/Springs KIT MK 111 from James Paddock. I actually just ordered the spring and shock kit from the web site and gave them the details of the car; James Paddock selected the Kit but as far as I can tell it seems to be the right set of bits. This came with a set of 148 lbs springs and shock absorbers. The shock absorbers look quite cheaply made but so far seem to be OK. I understand from other posters that the standard shocks can be of quite poor quality and may not last that long. The only other option seems to be to go to uprated parts.Seeing as the whole kit 2x Springs and 2x Shocks was £52.25 + VAT it seemed worth trying. The existing shocks had rusted during restoration (18 Years) and destroyed the seals as soon as I started using the car.Regards,Andrew

jamie31888
Thanks for the info guys.Just got to decide whether its worth forking out for the KYB shocks, as the car will only be driven a few times a month.
