I am in the process of replacing the diff

I have disconnected the rear shocker from the vertical link.

I find that the shocker has no resistance when pushed in, it does when pulled out.

Is this correct or is the shocker b-----d.

There are no leaks or anythinkg like that and they have done less than 5000 miles

As I recall cheaper shockers will only have a one way valve in them. More expensive have 2 way.  That memory is based on a lecture from a Monroe rep about 25 yrs ago so it could be a tad out of date.....   The basic shockers seem to be made by a firm called Armstrong. I fitted Koni's to mine and I would recommend them.
