Straight Six
I'm sure I read somewhere that having a thicker anti roll bar from a late GT6 fitted to a Vitesse will increase the tendency for the car to under steer. Am correct, or is my memory going? I just want to check before I change my MkII back to a standard thickness bar. Thanks
Richard B
Believe thats true; the late MkIII GT6 one is intended for the swing-spring and is to keep the car flat whilst the body tries to roll across the back.
herald948
Correct! Simply adding a thicker front bar will make the front plough like a Ferguson tractor! ??)
Nick Jones
Oh yes - tested that one :) You can correct this with a rear ARB if you want, but as they don't really roll all that much it's simpler just to go back to the standard one at the front. As Richard says, thicker ARB is for swing spring cars.Vitesses do have some understeer tendencies anyway - it's that boat-anchor up front..... Mine is definitely more neutral in touring trim (ie boot full of tools and other junk)Nick

Richard B
Someone I know on the forum has the 1" TriumphTune ARB fitted to his Spitfire; although it is on a 1500 Swingspring.
GT6 M
It all depends on how its set up, some one on here has got a 7/8ths bar, and a 11/16 th bar on the front, plus 600 lb springs, and it will no go straight on, !!!!!Marcus
Pete Lewis
mine runs a 1" ARB left on from fitting a swinger kit but thats gone and replaced with a Courier rear and 1" lowering block,, the tail is still a tad high but roundabouts at speed are pretty neutral not taken to the hedgerows yet Pete
