mods to steering

Cant resist a Tinker, whilst waiting for some bits.
So, decided to service the rack,  put the best parts of 2 racks into one.
and made these up to stop the excessive steering lock, wearing the out side of the tyres away
they are    1 1/8 th  inch wide,  which makes just over  1 1/4 turns from center to stop,or  2  3/4 turns lock to lock

whilst at it, the actuall rack bar off my own car,not only was it down  8 thou on the part where the car is in straight ahead position on the drivers side,  but also the bush was worn away too.
moer so on the bottom than the top,
Put new bush on original rack bar,and it just slopped aboot,
This is cos the Track arm is sitting upwards a little, not much though about an  inch
But, its enough to put the shock loads to the bottom part of the rack and bushing, so wearing  it away.

dred to think what the ones are like who are running em at 30 + degs upwards, :-/ :-/

So got these, they are   ..Power Train, and   PSTR6... part number.  have no got a clue what they off, just was ratchin in local parts store box. and found them.
the diff is not great, but all helps.  Both  track rod ends were made to sit level, so as to get the same height at the ends.

height of old track rod 27.80 mm to center

new ones  19.42  to center, so  just over 8 mm drop

may be of intrest to some other Tinkerers
