Simoneg
Suspect this will need renewing for the MOT (advisory issued last year). Anyone know if this can be done without removing the outer column from the car? Last time I renewed this horrid little part the column was already dismantled and even so it was a sod to get the old bush out. This one seems to be a looser fit so I'm wondering if it might be possible to hook it out from the top, with just the inner column removed. Presence of a steering lock (late 1360) complicates removal of the whole column, unfortunately. Simon
Pete Lewis
drill off the location lugs and soap the new one to lubricate the fitting and push old bush down the tube with the new one easy ish Pete

GT6 M
Simon, check the bottom pinch bolt first, the one by the rack , on the joint,if this comes loose, then it will cause the coluum to move aboot a fair bit, regards Marcus
Simoneg
Car has just passed its test with the original bush still fitted and no advisories this time! Many thanks for the helpful replies. I will push a new steering bush in soon anyway. Reckon there is space for about 8 of them before they get down to the level of the steering lock!
