Einar
Is this Steering Shaft/Knuckle: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-FAM1718P an improvement compared to the traditional/original one: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-FAM1718 . As I’ve now decided to change to a new steering rack I may use the opportunity to do this possible upgrade. Any advices – thanks.
Clive
Yeo, that looks right. Often sold elsewhere as escort group 4 steering joints. Those are probably slightly easier to fit sometimes (I know I am being vague) than the cast steel types. mazfg
These are better than the orginal. The rubber part of the original doesn't last that long and if you want to buy the rubbers only it works out more expensive that the knuckle joint with rubbers? Einar
Thanks for the replies. I'll do this upgrade together with the steering rack.
WIMPUS
Just fitted one on my spitfire (the same one), had a regular one.. But after a good year and 14.000 miles the rubbers in the UJ where failing, so had a bit of play :o
