I'm currently working on a Spitfire with a Mountney wheel (different design though) and the clearance between the two is less than 1mm. We're taking steps to improve matters, without leaving a massive gap between the wheel and the top of the outer column, but it's far from being an out-of-the-box setup.Cheers,Bill.
