Yaddo
Can anybody help me... I am after an original GT6 mk2 steering wheel for a 1969 car, can anybody help point me in the right direction??Were the originals wood rimmed or leather? I 've had conflicting information from a couple of different sources.Alternatively does anybody have some photos of a mk2 steering wheel that i could use as a guide to buying a similar wheel from another after market supplier? Thanks Yaddo
Paudman
Original MK2 wheels were 15 inch leather, with three padded spokes the horizontal ones of which slanted downwards; the wooden wheel was an optional extra. They're based on the Tr5 wheel but with padded spokes so not the same. Late post-facelift cars had a different style of spoke which slanted upwards but were still leather, and the thicker arms were unpainted aluminium. dimtavies
Try Spitfire Graveyard I got a load of MK2 interior stuff from him for mine, though I have gone for an original formula wheel for mine like the MK1, I really dont like the MK2 wheel.
