JRidout
Hi all,Just removed my steering rack (mk1 Spit) and track rod ends are completely rusted to the arm and it seems each other. I'm currently soaking them in penetraing oil, but is there a technicque to removing them? CheersJR
James1500
I just did as you did then used a vice for extra grip, undoing the lock nut first :)

JRidout
Both? I presume the Rod End screws clockwise? JR
Velocita Rosso
Yes , screwing on or `toeing in ` you screw clockwise and then the locknut screws up to the ends at the desired position. In other words a normal right hand thread on each end
JRidout
Cheers guys, they eventually came away with a bit of brute force and ignorance!! plus a flame thrower, 3 in 1 and a big vice. A friend said they are the originals so they did a job for 47 years.JR
