fastblatt
Hi. Can anyone tell me what Mk2 models had power steering as standard and what is required to convert a 2000/2500/Pi to power steering? Are there any interchangeable parts, ie the rack from a Stag? (I read the other post about the uj)Many thanksMark

It is very light in all conditions.Power steering rackengine front platepipeshigh and low pressure hosesfront crossmemberpumpYou will need the radiator hoses and a few bolts, fan belt, a mounting bracket for the pump, and two pulley bottom crank, al of which can be got for a good price from Chris Wittor amongst otherssend me a message if you are interested.thanksCarl
fastblatt
Wow what a fantastic response in such a short time. Thankyou all. Mr scrapman, Ideally I am after a tax exempt Mk11 auto in good to very good condition on the road (already got a project waiting for my attention), not brown or french blue. Carl, if the right car turns up that needs the conversion I will contact you. Many thanksMark

piman
Hello Carl, "it transforms the car into a pleasant carefree drive."each to their own but I prefer the feel of a manual steering car and don't find it other than pleasant and carefree to drive?Alec
cnicholson
in fairness, i didn't spend most of my life in the gym so I found it better than the manual steering 2000 that i owned before this one, the Girlfriend can actually drive this one too...I do agree it is good to get a feel for the road though... Lord Sorbington
2000s with manual steering aren't bad but they feel really low geared and heavy compared to one with PAS.

Leans a bit more though.Colin.
