derdup
The metal cap (dust cover retainer) on my clutch slave cylinder was a right-royal pain to remove - a common scenario I believe. I read somewhere that a 'plastic' alternative was at one time available as a replacement option. Can anyone here confirm that for me?Thanks
junkuser
Sounds like you are referring to the master cylinder. If so back plastic ones are used on aftermarket ones made by PBR in Australia but I don't know what is available in your area. Zendervision
No, I think derdup's referring to part no. 15 on this diagram.

derdup
Thanks Zendervision. Yep, part No. 15 is the beast in question. If I have to, I'll re-assemble using the original end cap, but I have to say I wish the good folks at Triumph had thought better of this particular design :P
Zendervision
I attempted to remove mine, but it wasn't going to come off without being wrecked. So I left it alone. For a while I was worried about how bodged it looked having a chewed up metal bit on the end of the slave cylinder... then I had to hack a chunk out of the casing to make my new clutch work. It didn't look so bad after that :P
