diverdave
I am now have an MOT and a slightly slippy clutch. The car has done 8 miles in two years and the pedal is slightly sticky and does not come all the way back up.The master cylinder is not moving fully so this needs attention, i am thinking of stripping it down but also i think with it being such a cheap part if it is not a big deal i will just replace it. I am hoping that in the short term WD40 and a furious wiggle with pliars will help?I have not even see the slave cylinder yet, so what do you suggest. How big a deal is replacing them both, in a domestic garage without a ramp or pit but with a couple of ramps. I dont really want to take the carpets up and seats out, but gan probably get beneath it in the garage.Any advice very welcome
nang
I'd keep WD40 and anything else but brake fluid away from it. Sorry but you'll have to get the slave cyl. out from inside. Personally I'd replace both of them then you know you'll be OK for some time.Cheers Tony.
Falkon
It's not so bad. I haven't done one in years, and today pulled the cover in less than a quarter hour.
bob dunn
drive it for 50 miles . check the pedal return spring . bleed the clutch . look at the slave cyl as it is pumped to see movement.
