Jonny-Jimbo
Another one of these ones about photos... they can tell a lot lot more! When you say they're 5mm out of centre, do you mean that the PCD is wrong (hole spacing), or are they all drilled on the wonk etc? heraldcoupe
Quoted from paulfosh will try pic latter , yes PCD way out my diff and box have the square flange been told wrong for my car? paul No, this would be correct for a Vitesse 6. The round flange with larger PCD would be correct for the Vitesse 2L, but not the 1600.Cheers,Bill.
paulfosh
ok thank you bill rimmers still say I have wrong gearbox and diff the prop they sent will not fit does say for 1600 on label ?
paulfosh
the holes on the new prop are bigger than on mine could it be for a 2lt paul
Nick Jones
Yes, you've been sold a 2L prop by the sound of it. They are the same apart from the trunnion flanges at the end which have different size bolt holes (5/16" UNF bolt on 1600, 3/8" UNF on 2L) and different PCD.Nick
paulfosh
that sounds about right just got to convince rimmers they are adamant its the right one
Jonny-Jimbo
In future avoid Rimmers would be my advice. There's enough other reputable, decent sellers out there that you don't need to use them. They're often more expensive too.
RobPearce
Rimmers don't know s&*t about the stuff they're selling. Take no cr@p from them, shop elsewhere.

Jonny-Jimbo
The above clearly shows square flanges on the Vitesse 1600 like you have, and round flanges on the later cars. Rimmers are trying to mug you off. Get a refund and buy from somewhere else.I can see from the Rimmers site that they charge around £200 for the incorrect propshaft, so worth nothing. Canleys for example though is around £160 for the correct one; http://www.canleyclassics.com/demoapp/?ptno=208942(Please note, I have no connection to Canley Classics, but Dave's knowledge is up there with the best of them, and their products are good too, and are genuine enthusiasts, unlike Rimmers that are just a company selling tat to make money...) paulfosh
on its way back had to wait for a returns number, cost me £20 post they had better refund me/ will not use again that's for sure paul.
Jonny-Jimbo
They have to refund you the cost of postage, it's the law. Any item sold by mail order, that is being returned for a refund HAS to have the return cost paid for by the seller, NOT the buyer.
