Jonny-Jimbo
Hi Bruce,I'll be honest I don't think a 10 year old would understand the clues well, I did a lot of navigation at that age in scouts etc, and I don't think that many children would get them. A lot of the navigation is done in pictoral form, or codes etc (without giving too much away).Unfortunately though, either way your son can't take part, due to the following MSA (Motor Sport Association) rules;Minimum Ages5.3.1. Navigators (non-Drivers) on Rallies withoutSpecial Stages must be at least 12 years old, and 16years old on rallies with Special Stages. My event doesn't have any special stages, but the rules do state that navigators must be at least 12 years old. They are very strict on this, so we can't get round it.I'll send you a PM too.
Davemate
Quoted from Jonny-Jimbo I'll be honest I don't think a 10 year old would understand the clues well Oh nuts, that's me and Radders up the swanney then ????????
Jonny-Jimbo
Don't worry Dave, I think between you and Radders you can work it out okay. Maybe 😉I've had the clues checked and they're at a suitable level, and importantly, they all make sense too! Also, if I get a moment, I'd like to have a feel of the clutch pedal in 'Nigel', see how it compares to mine, if that's okay? I'll try and get mine down too, but the clutch is very heavy and like a switch!
Davemate
Fine,no problem. When "Iggy" helped me bleed the clutch he thought I wasn't getting anywhere, when I checked it was ok, he's pedal is quite heavy compared to mine
thescrapman
Quoted from Jonny-Jimbo Hi Bruce,I'll be honest I don't think a 10 year old would understand the clues well, . I've been told a 49 year old would struggle...

Jonny-Jimbo
Cheers Bruce - sorry about not being able to get your son involved, but as I said in the PM, he'll be welcome at the treasure hunt I run in the summer as that's run to a different set of MSA rules. richard w
Well done Bruce. It'll be good to see another non-South East crew! GT6 or Stag?
Jonny-Jimbo
Considering how many cars and owners there are around here I'm somewhat surprised that we don't get more local entries... I can understand people not wanting to us their near show car type Triumphs, but there are lots of 'daily' types...

Jonny-Jimbo
I hope everyone who has entered the rally reads this, but I will be sending out further details soon;It has come to my attention that it is the Coventry Half Marathon on the Sunday morning. Technically none of the route for the rally should be closed when the teams get there towards the end of the rally BUT teams arrival routes COULD be effected as some roads are closed from 6am. This is a link to the route; http://www.coventryhalf.com/userfiles/files/Cov%20Route%20Map%202016.pdf
