CharlieB
Fitting a new brake master cylinder today (genuine Girling ally type from Stoneleigh) I noticed the push rod that came with the new one is shorter than the old one by about 7mm. Does anyone know how long they should be from hole centre to end? I'm inclined to fit the old longer rod as it worked fine before, don't think I want the pedal closer to the floor... GT6 M
May cause your brake pedal to go even further to the floor. !!!
Velocita Rosso
Is the m/c reservoir the same dia/bore/depth?
jms700
if the new master cylinder is the same size as the old one, and the old push rod is the same dimensions all round ( apart from length ) then probably best with the old push rod ?
Deleted User
I had that with mine, so swopped my old one for the new one (rod) and it worked fine.
GT6 M
if it were me, as a compulsive tinkerer, i would make it adjustable, then you got alot better brake height,, and also takes up alot of slack move ment , im no happy if im no fiddlin, ;) ;) ;)

Same big ally reservoir, different bore, long story, but I think the longer rod is from the car's original M/C so I'll use it.No one got any old M/Cs on the shelf to measure? So Bobbyspit had the same thing, wonder what the shorter rods are designed for?
