RichC69
He’s very keen to learn and loves working on the Herald, otherwise know as GCSE revision avoidance 🙂. He’s already better at MIG and TIG welding than me (not hard mind you!)...
Shynsy
Like Tim Hunt, the 6 just needs some running and a standard service... But then she always likes to throw me a wrong-un closer to the time.. Last time it was a crunchy gear change which got worse during the run and needed a rebuild afterwards!
RobPearce
I'd like to say the Spitfire just needs some running but its track record doesn't yet give me any confidence. At the weekend I fitted a bit of fuel pipe to correct the kinked hose that had led to the pump being loose (a Facet one in the boot) to get any fuel through: The tank and filter were new last year, after the residue from POR15 "tank sealer" flaking off had prevented it from doing the 2018 RBRR. Richard Warr had the same issue in 2018. He had sealed his rank and a piece dropped off and blocked his fuel outlet. He ended up doing it in his co-drivers, Dave Maton, unprepared Mk1 saloon. Tim Bancroft
Must admit I am thinking of now using the TR6, I have done 6 RBRRs in my GT6 and would like to do one in a convertible. If so, I need to do the following: Fit recon injectors and pipes that Jason is doing for me. Change the road springs for some that are slightly lower. Batch
I need to put some miles on the TR6 before the RBRR so looking forward to Border Raiders which looks set to run this year. Then a service and MOT, fit the hard top and should be all set. Dave
Slimboyfat
Tim says I'm not allowed to do it in the Pony so I have to pick a car from the queue of projects, and fully restore that. However I have half a dozen other restorations on the go at the moment that need to progress before I start another.
McJim
What a lucky shot! Was the van badly damaged after the helicopter crashed into the back of it? Jim.

No but the corrosion set in not long after this due to those neer-do-wells piddling up the side of it.
McJim
Why is Tim not letting you start in the Pony? I've never seen a Pony. I feel a campaign coming on #lettheponyrun or #thatsaloadofpony. Jim.
TRTOM2498
My TR6 (CVB6H): Install the hardtop, & that is it. I was planning on a top-end engine rebuild, but my engineer is that busy, that I have been trying to get in for the last 2 years ! If not, a job for winter. Also want a pair of Ford Escort Cosworth vented discs (NOS), if I am lucky. Cheers.
GT6DavidMK1
My 2.5PI has had a fresh MOT in March, last weekend a run to Towcester to see a customer 300 miles round trip, won't say how much petrol was use but it was worth every mile🤣 as always never missed a beat. Rubce
Our Stag had its front suspension struts overhauled, new brake discs, new front bearings, lower ball joints and drop links done over the winter. She came back out on the road last Friday and has covered 70 miles this week pottering around locally. Hoping to put another 150 or so miles on her this weekend with a run into Wales. My main plan this summer is simply to use the car as much as possible, hopefully including both the C2C and Border Raider. Andy and I want to complete the RBRR this time after our disappointment in 2018. Bruce Edited April 22, 2021 by Rubce

Shynsy
just spent the weekend renewing the rear wiring loom on the TR6... Don't want a repeat of intermittant brake lights this time 😞
Bradison
Eric is going to have some bodywork done, I have sills and front wings to do over the next two months under the guidance of Richard Brake. My saloon will look like a patchwork car for the RBRR, Pimento with red oxide primer. Rebuilt diff ready to go in, standard 3:45. I also have a fuel light that isn't going out even with a full tank and want to have hazard lights just in case. Copious amounts of stickers ready to go on. Anything to bring a smile to tired faces in the early hours.

Tim, if you do fit lower springs, pack some spacers for the rear ones so you can lift it back up after you get fed up with it scraping its arse on the tarmac over every bump. BTDT, Triumph got the ride height about right. Especially if you have an after market exhaust.
