TRad
Hi. I noticed the other day that my 4 speed TR7 does not have any grease caps on the ends of the hubs. On looking with different suppliers, they only seem to stock front hub grease caps. Is this correct - should they be used for the rear hubs as well or do they remain exposed?CheersAdam
Beans
No grease caps for the rear axles used on all TR7's including your 4-speed.The castle nut is protected from road grime by the wheeltrim/wheel centres.
TRad
Oh right!I don't want to use the black wheel trims on my new Weller wheels really. Any idea if the front caps will fit the rear or any other options?Cheers
Beans
In that case try to find some wheel centres for the Weller wheels.Maybe the original wheel centres from the alloys do fit, but that depends on the diameter of the centre hole of your wheelsLooking at a cross section drawing of the rear hub assembly I'd say the front grease caps don't fit to the rear axle.
