Radders
Took the new beastie for MOT today and as expected it failed. Main points were the rear inner sills on both sides, and the front wheel bearings being loose. Can the wheel bearings be adjusted? Is it an easy job???????Also, because the car was 'missing' he did a compression check and found that compression on no.1 cylinder was down.Anyone have a cheapish good 2000 engine for sale? Or even a 2.5????? :-/ Thanks
CRAJ
Wheel bearings are easily adjusted.Remove the bearing cap (tap it at the side with a mallet), remove the split pin and tighten whilst spinning the hub.I usually tighten until the hub is 'dragging' and then back off to the next available split pin position. Replace the bearing cap, DO NOT fill the cap with grease. Works for me! ;)Cheers Colin.
