sahtuning2000
Is there a simple way of replacing these??,i have read the Registers way, which is very well explained and with great pics, but is it really a must to disconect the driveshafts/brakes?,is it not possible to get the u/js in the correct position and move the arms back the 3-4 inches that is needed,i was told by a p.i owner recently that he did both sides in about 2 hours but removed very little,is there a quick way,as mine look very tired although my welding friend told me today that they are an MOT pass, but do appear a touch old. Doug Thompson
Yes take them off !!! and do it ,Far easier than on the car ,pull driveshafts out ,and remove two bolts holding them onto the subframes
sahtuning2000
I wondered about this route,or getting a spare pair of trailing arms, changing the bushes then putting the arms on,now my car is 65,i think it has the narrow rear track, but what was different on the later mk1s to make them wider(Don,t want mk2 setup)
Richard B
Late MkI's subframes have the MkII subframe mount, but not the MkII exhaust mount.I do not think late MkI's have a wider track (willing to be proven wrong!)
DJB_Harvey
ALL MK1 s have the narrow rear track ...but bear in mind this does give more tyre/wheel combinations 8x18 anyone ? !
