DJB_Harvey
Worth remembering that on MK1's you can wire the horn to operate on the headlamp flasher stalk , all you need is a double bullet connector .... Don't think they like it for Mot purposes but mines been like it for over 10 years !
James
I was considering that very mod this week :)Though I think I might put my overdrive on the flasher (logic box so only uses momentary) and put the flasher on my overdrive (when I get it)

Or is there more to it? I've a MK2 box in mine and I'm not keen on the "button".Andy
James
Andy,Currently I have a J-type - same as yours - but a normal non-OD gear knob and a momentary switch in an awkward position on the centre speaker surround. You can still use a standard overdrive stalk with a J-type.I have a logic box that makes the overdrive switch a push button - I like it because it switches out of OD when you change gear - so you don't get that "forgot to come out of OD" moment when changing up in to 3rd and the OD switching in.Because I have the logic box I could use the flasher on the end of the indicator stalk to activate the OD - meaning I don't have to take my hands off the switch. As I plan to install a proper OD stalk I could use this for main beam - or anything else I can think of.James
