crazycrane
Hi All.I have been doing some work on my Herald 13/60 and just got to looking at the gearbox number which has a CB prefix (CB311171). I have checked the prefix tables I can find but no joy, it is a 3 rail box. The big question is where it is from and are the ratios different. Thanks in advance for you help.Cheers.Sean
thescrapman
I suspect the bloke at the factory used a C as his G was worn out or missing, or he just could not reach it.
Jonny-Jimbo
I'm surprised no-one has ever had one with a profanity stamped into it instead...
crazycrane
Oh the human factor.Even so it should be a GA so someone stole both stamps. Probably a work avoidance scheme. The car is pretty original and I believe that the condition of the gearbox would fit with the 50000 odd miles I belive the car has done. So I was obviously curious. Thanks for you reply.
