trsforever Posted yesterday at 03:17 Share Posted yesterday at 03:17 Hi I have a badly damaged diff casing in a MK3 GT6 can the internals be swapped into a Herald or Spitfire casing, as I know there are different bearings for pinions and axles. Thanks for any help or info, much appreciated. Scott in New Zealand.
glang
Right its a bit complicated as Triumph changed output shaft bearing size and in/output flange types. The safest for you is to stick to a casing from a diff which is most similar to yours ie. with a serial number FH, FK, FR, FD, HC, KC, KD from Vitesse mk1/2, GT6 1/2/3, Spitfire mkIV and 1500. There is more chance your internals, even if the unique 3.27 ratio (KC), will fit in these but of course must be completely reshimmed to get the correct gear engagement and bearing preload... Slimboyfat
We have loads of correct cases if needed, and ship to NZ regularly if you can't find anything locally.
