FloydP
Hi all, I've just ordered a set of Koni's for the rear of my Mk1 GT6 with a fixed spring and wondered what setting to go for. Also I'll be changing to a swing spring at some point in the near future, will I need to change them to a different setting once that happens, what do you think?Cheers,Floyd. JohnD
Floyg,It's an entirely personal choice.Start halfway and adjust as you see fit.For instance, if it understeers make the front stiffer and the rear softer.Very much an excuse to take a track day!John
FloydP
Thanks John,Am I right in assuming in simplistic terms that one end needs to be stiff and one end soft to avoid understeer?and if that is the case I'll need to have the rear konis set harder with the fixed spring and thinner front antiroll bar.then when I change to the softer swing spring and thicker front antiroll bar I'll need to soften the rear konis up.Cheers,Floyd. Tim Bancroft
I have always run the konis on my GT6 at std settings-always seem ok.
FloydP
Hi Tim, when you say standard settings, do you mean as they come out of the box, which I thought was there softest setting although they say that is slightly stiffer than a standard shock.Cheers,Floyd. Royboy66
Although mine are AVO's I run them as John has mentioned, pretty stiff at the front and soft at the back, otherwise I get more understeer!Dont know if thats helps floyd! :-/ Roy :)
GT6 John
I set the Konis on my GT6 Mk1 just a couple of clicks harder than out the box and they've been fine.I haven't set front softer than back or vice versa. Just the same all round. Been great. Mind you I do have 440lb 1" lower front springs that probably adds to the stiffness at the front compared to the rear.
