Velocita Rosso
My oil light has just stopped working....bulb OK and new wiring harness Am I correct in saying that if I continuity test across the switch body and terminal and it buzzes, then the switch is faulty? The ball valve inside moves by inserting a probe...but it could be worn
yorkshire_spam
Switch should conduct when below the pressure threshold and not conduct when above. (ie. ON at low/no pressure, OFF at higher pressure) (I think)
glang
With the ignition on if you disconnect at the pressure switch and earth the wire the oil light should illuminate. If not you have a supply, bulb or wire problem. If it does light the problem is with the pressure switch....

No, unless you're doing so with the engine running. As YS & glang said, the switch should conduct when there's no pressure.
