Oscar cederqvist
Does anyone know if the floatchamber should be fixed rigid to the carb? Mine sits kind of loose and could be moved a little by hand. Hope you understand.
yorkshire_spam
If they are su hs3/hs4 the locating ring is plastic and can allow movement even if the bolt is tight.
Oscar cederqvist
As i understand there is no conection between the floatchamber an carb. IF It's loose it wouldn't leaking air. I'm trying to locate an airleak and trying to rule out that conection.
drofgum
Oscar,There will be no air leak where the float chamber attaches to the carb body. On your Mk1 the throttle shafts are more likely and then maybe the three-piece inlet manifold. Best of luck, Paul
nang
There is a bolt on the side of the carb which is just about hidden beneath the linkage which holds the float chamber to the body. This has probably come loose. A 7/16" ring spanner will fit.Tony.
