Spitfire1500 Posted April 8, 2007 Author Share Posted April 8, 2007 Hey everyone!Well, there was no petrol in the float chambers...they were bone dry! A bit of throttle pumping, engine turning and they started filling up, the rear one then the front.Also, one of the piston springs were dodgy so I had that replaced with one of the ones from my waxstats.The engine does run...quite nicely, idle is a little high, the mixture is too rich but both carburettors are balanced now. Just a case of fine tuning it (there is a nice 30+ page step by step on the Haynes manual!).Anyway, there is still a fair bit too do in that respect.With regard to the MOT...not as good news, more on that in my other (more befitting) thread.David Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
