pete mk3 spit
Would anyone be so kind as to explain what you get in an oil pump repair kit? and do they do a good job or is it much better to but a new oil pump?
JohnD
From this that I found by Googling, it looks like an outer rotor and and inner with drive shaft.http://www.bpnorthwest.com/.sc/ms/dd/ee/7198If the end faces of the rotors are worn, or the end plate is worn, you may be able to lap them back to a better clearance, but if the rotors themselves are worn, I'd worry about the body too, and get a new pump.John
GTsixCA
Not worth the bother, buy a new pump. It's such a major item for what is little money and if you re-build one and it does not operate you could be in for some serious $$$$ in re-work. Clive
And the new pumps are pretty pants too. Chris wittor has them "blueprinted". Think that means they are sorted out so they work as they should! May be your best bet if you are unsure.
