Nilfisken
Hi,I'm gonna install an thermostatic oil cooler for the car in a few days time but want to pre-check the fitting of the sandwich plate and see how the threaded adaptor fitted to my engine looks. To do that I will need to remove the filter which I previously only done when changing oil so therefore wonder if the normal oil level in the engine is below the filter fitting area? Car has been standing still for days so there shouldn't be much left in the filter itself.Cheers
drofgum
Oskar,You won't have any trouble. The oil level is down in the steel oil pan, not up in the block. Any oil you lose will be that which is still in the filter. Cheers, Paul
Nilfisken
Cool, thanks! I will do a proper oil change before starting up first time with the cooler but now I can easily make some quick checks so I know I will have all needed parts before cracking on with the real installation!Cheers
