vincent hurricane
Hi, I am running a Vincent Hurricane based on GT6 MK3 and recently topped up my engine oil with a standard engine oil from a local garage...however, a few miles down the road when the engine had warmed up fully the car suddenly started playing up...my revs were pretty much stuck in each gear and didnt go down when I sat in neutral...there were no leaks or anything apparently wrong under the bonnet however I suspect the oil grade was too thin and so broke down too much at the car's running temperature...What is the reccommended oil grade for GT6 2l straight six engines?? and any reccomended brands??Thanks. Velocita Rosso
A good 20/50 is all it needs , however if its a good well tuned car and well looked after engine then look after it.We use Millers CSS semi synthetic 20/50 , however it is £29.00 a 5ltr tub.Does not break down or lose pressure over long distance
Velocita Rosso
It could be coincidence that the symptoms happened as you had just topped up . It does not sound like oil problems. You need to check everything from scratch........Which carbs ?
