WIMPUS
Hi all, As you know i do a lot of miles with the spitfire, so it does need a few oil changes a year.. So i had a look as it needed another oil change to buy a 'few' liter in one go..But before i buy a bigger can of oil, does someone know where i can get this type of pump from cheaply ? 🙂https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiJF484IAIE
thebrookster
Try something like this Wim, not as robust but nice and cheap, and this type does seem to work reasonably well!! (I use bigger versions with 200l drums on the ship for transferring smaller quantities of oil).http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Manu.....?hash=item417b13ec5bThough to be perfectly honest, the time you take setting it all up and putting it away, just build a hinged cage for the drum that allows you to pour under control. something like the attached picture??Cheers,Phil
GT6 M
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.ht.....or+pump&_sacat=0try some Smith an Allen oil its got a 14 PPM of zddphttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20w-.....-Litre-/301499425348http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ultr.....-20-Lt-/251803385700M
thebrookster
Just to clarify myself slightly, onboard the ship I would normally use a hand pump for 20l or more, for pouring out the smaller quantities from a 20l container the tipper thing is easier with much better control than pouring by hand!!Phil

WIMPUS
This morning went to there, when i arrived the guy that emailed me told me he just send me a mail about the ZDDP/ zinc level..Voor oldtimers word vaak een minimum zink gehalte van 1200ppm en fosfor gehalte van 1000ppm aanbevolen.Het zink gehalte van onze Q8 T 520 20w-50 ligt rond de 1110ppm, en het fosfor gehalte rond de 1000ppm.& now in english for you all ... For oldtimers (classics) cars usually a min of 1200ppm and phosphor of 1100ppm recommended. The zinc in the Q8 T 520 20w-50 is around 1100ppm and phosphor of around 1000ppm. nang
I have a 20 litre drum of Penrite 20/60. Came with a tap which screws into drum. Has your container got a bung at the bottom?Tony.
