WIMPUS
Hi, I know there are a few threads going on about this, but does only one know where you can find an Fram or Mann filter the cheapest ? :)I'm always using the cheap gfe150 ones, but want to look for a better quality one :)Wim
1300dolly
Your local car accessory shop should have one, hell even Halfords sell them or canleys, Mick Dolphin, Rarebits4classics. just make sure you get one with a non return valve.

Clive
3 years ago I discovered I bought the last triumph fitting oil fiter in Brighton and Hove. Halfords had stopped selling them, the corner shop spares places didn't keep them, and I got the very last one from Speedy Spares.I reckon the filter adapters from the states so you can use the common 3/4" threaded filters is the way to go. I got Bill to bring a dozen over, all have found good homes!then use a genuine VW one, they are cheap.

cook1e
I tend to buy filters on ebay when they come up, I picked up a cheap stash of genuine Rover branded ones (which would be the newer brand for unipart the BL oem brand) for my GT6 with spin on adaptor on a but iy now deal. I'm sure the OEM ones for a Spitfire will alos come up from time to time on ebay..

yorkshire_spam
Wimpus, try and get hold of a Wix adapter "Wix 24037 Filter Adapter Stud" and just use a more readily available quality part.

nang
I'd suggest that "cheap" does not equate to good quality :(Have a look at the Mann filter post on here. you need a 5/8 to 3/4 adaptor . but otherwise a straightforeward swap. No drain back with these.Tony.
