stillnotfinnished
hi can anyone tell me if 185 x 13 tyres will fit on to my herald? it will have a swing spring conversion ( if that makes a differance)thanks ed.
Clive
don't think so. 175/70 13 or maybe 185/60's may do the trick. But I would stik to 175/70, same radius as std tyres, a wll trodden path for good reasons.Clive
Nick Jones
Assume you are talking about 185/70 tyres? This will depend partly on the width and offset of your wheels, but I think they are too big.I tried (because they came with the wheels) 185/70 on 6" rims. They caught badly on the bulkhead (tyres to tall!) and on the rear wheel arches. 175/70 fit fine with just a light rub on the bulkhead in extreme conditions. If you fit long shafts as part of your swing spring conversion you may struggle to get 155s on the back btw!Nick
stillnotfinnished
thanks for the replies, i got the tyres[185/70 x 13] with 5.5 rims . so would the wheels fit with 175/ 70 tyres ??thanks ed.
ferny
They'll fit. What's your offset? Mine are 0 I believe and every bump I touch, time I use the brakes gently or turn the front tyres rub.
Steve AKA vitessesteve
You might like to try this useful page to work out what might fit and the effect on the gearing of wheel and tyre changes: .http://www.mintylamb.co.uk/?page=tyre.htm
