You can get a much bigger single box under the boot floor and make it really quite high if you exit the tailpipe under the rear wing. As others have commented though the lowest part will be where the pipe passes around the diff. and chassis. Also where it goes under the gearbox if you have a larger than normal diameter main pipe section as my rather non-standard car does. Having said that, on a standard car I always found the original silencer arrangement to be fine.
