Sorting out the brakes

More info :-
I ordered new track rod ends, standard mk1 jobbies from rimmers.
Everything appears the same but appearances are deceiving.
The nut on the new one is a 5/8 ----- nut on the cars one is 11/16 !
Tapper on new one is too small for the hole in the arm thing that it sits in.
It would appear that the new one is too small,so what the hell is my brakes/hub set up made of.

The car has manual steering

Do I need mk2 or power steering track rod ends or are they the same
Add this to the fact that I seem to have mk2 pads,do we think that I have a mk2 set up but with mk1 discs if that's possible

New rod end

The pads I have are standard mk1,
I've been told that the smaller square ones that I got sent are tr6 !

The track rod ends I got sent originally are correct, I just hadn't pushed them home. When pushed hard the rubber boot compresses but the rubber is just very very stiff.
My track rod ball joints are totaly knackered so I couldn't just change the boots.

So in short, I have a standard mk1 set up  :(

So if anyone has any mk2 bits so I can convert please let me know
