Dag Wim,

While it is all apart, it's easier to replace them all, depends on the condition of the others.

You can buy a pre made kit for them also?
Let me know if you struggle to get the pipe, I have some.

Cheers
Shaun

Hi shaun ,

yeah my front brake pipes a in good condition i guess ,
but i've been at the local garage ( my friend) and he says that i maybe replace the whole line to the back ,
because they are very precise at the mot (keuring in dutch!) on the back brake lines at the time ..  :-/
and maybe because i'm working at it right now .. so yeah , i'm going to see tomorrow at a place a always pass when i'm going to work  ;)
Hopefully they have the right connector's  :P

Kind regards Wim

Hey Wim,

Dirk bought a kit for his mk2, but it's single line system,  so don't know how much different it would be in price.

The benefit with the kit is all the pipes are the correct length (usually) so just need bending and fitting.

I would personally buy the pipe and fittings and make it yourself, and as you are disconnecting the back end, why not replace all the pipes at the same time, as you have to bleed the system with new fluid.
you then know it's all good, and it will be easier to do now,  :)

Cheers
Shaun

Hi shaun,

I'm thinking about it ..  :-/
I'm going to brake the rear brake pipes tomorrow or so .. ,
The rear are in bad shape so.. the front is better, but i see it's nog a big problem to sort them out..
Just the conector for the pwda valve had a bigger fitting for the front brakes
(original 3/8 just on the pwda for the front (i think) 7/16 )

I just bought 2 new T-pieces/3-way for the back (and maybe one for the front) & a new male/male 3/8 connector  ;)
So...
maybe its better to fit new ones , no problems for mot a few years..

Kind regards Wim

shaun , i just was looking at the canley's website , for the single line you can order brake lines for the whole car , but for like my car with the tandem .. no  :-/  So i just must take the old lines apart and go to the shop with them ..
I know at the back it's al the same for single and tandem but at the front it's different  :)

Hi Wim,
Canley lists pipe kits for all types of Spitfire brakes:

H110     BRAKE PIPE SET - SPIT IVLATE/1500SINGLE     £43.10
H111     BRAKE PIPE SET - SPITIVLATE/1500SIN LHD     £43.10
H113     BRAKE PIPE SET - SPIT1500EAR TANDEM LHD     £43.10
H114     BRAKE PIPE SET - SPIT1500 LATE TANDEM     £43.10
H115     BRAKE PIPE SET - SPIT 1500 LATE TANDEM LHD     £43.10

They are usually very easy to deal with, if you would require something special they can no doubt make it for you as I think they make all brake pipe kits individually after orders been placed.

Cheers,
Oskar
