MSter
The old tyre well in my triumph herald was rotten so i as carefully as possible removed it to repace with a better item, does anyone know the requirements for putting it back the old one was not welded all the way round more spot welded at regular intervals.Do i need to weld the new one in all the way round or can i spot it back in i heard that the mot requirements are different from a body that is on a chassis to a body and chassis that are all in one??I know that the best option would be to weld the whole way round but that is a lot of welding.Any help or tips greatly appreciatedattached a few pics of old one out and new(er) one resting in place
Steve Cureton
There is no MOT requirement for the well to be even welded so do it whatever way suits you, mine is nut & bolted. I think originally they were spot welded.
MSter
What i would really like to do is get 2 big 0's cut out of metal one to sit one inside the boot and one to sit underneath drill holes at regular intervals rounds the 0's and then rivet from the inside out so when you look in the boot all you will see if the rivet head would this be acceptable??
