Feeling the (Tyre) Pressure

Hello Chaps,
I was just wondering about the tyre pressures I should put in my Herald. She is equipped with a Vitesse MK2 2 Litre engine, so I figure this must factor in the pressure. She has 175/70 R13 Radial Tyres fitted, and they are on Cobra Super slot Mag Wheels.

Any ideas or numbers would be very much appreciated.

My Vitesse Mk2 saloon (so similar weight):
25psi front & 27psi rear - for "normal" local driving
25psi front & 28 psi rear - for longer distance touring
175/65R13 tyres on 5.5" wheels
Arrived at these pressures after experimenting with front and rear alignment, and settings on adjustable shocks.
These pressures provide a good balance between comfort and handling - for our preferences anyway!

Peter's numbers sound pretty reasonable, but you might go up a couple pounds with the slightly taller profile 70 series tires. (I used to run my '62 1200 sedan -- 4.5" wheels and 175/70R13s -- around 28-29 front and 32 rear.)

I run 28front 30rear on my vitesse.175/70/13,minilites.no probs :)

Thanks for the replies fellas, I had the tyres removed yesterday for the wheel refurbishment, so now I know what figure to give the tyre fitter when he puts them back again.

re-read my post...typo. I run 27F/28R when touring...
