AlastairC
Can any one tell me what the spec is for standard tyres and wheels for a 1969 mk1 2000 saloon.cheersalastair
andy thompson
4.5J x13steel with 175/80 x 13 tyres. Actually an option on a Mk1 ( radials only standard on the estate) but does anyone use crossplys anymore?Even decent standard tyres are virtually unobtainium nowadays
thescrapman
It would have had 5.60*13 crossplies.I thought the option for a Mk1 2000 was 155/80-13 tyres, the PI having 185/80-13.Need to double check the handbook at home.. :-)CheersColinp.s. find yourself a set of 14inch Stag steels, much better choice of tyre and look very similar if you are so inclined. Raider
Radial fitment was 175r13 (82 series aspect ratio).
dazzer
I've got a motley selection of steel wheels MK1 4.5j x 13 & Mk2 some of the MKIIs are 5j x 13? I use 6j x 13s on my rally MK1 with 185/70/13 Kumho R700 rally tyres. Superb handling and braking in all conditions but they do howl.CheersDarren
AlastairC
Thanks I just need some basic tyres to get car up and running and to get a warrant - will go to superlites and approrpiate tyres further down the track hopefully. hopefully my tyre guy will have something suitable.CheersAlastair
DJB_Harvey
Mk1's on crossplys were 6.40x13 .. Radial option 175x13 .. And Mk1 PI had 185x13 . Radial 175x13 getting very hard to come by however I did find that Toyo still make this size currently .Crossplys and 185x13 Michelin XAS still available from Vintage tyre supplies ( at a cost ! )
