Hi all !

As you all will know yesterday a stud broken and i lost a wheel nut.

Now they where bought at rimmer to fit my revo's (they are 60° angle ones).
I've seen a few that are rusting and the chrome is coming off and because i lost one i maybe want to get new ones.

Looked on ebay and noticed the ones at rimmer are selling very cheap on the bay  ??)
Does someone else got an idea for good wheel nuts , maybe even stainless  :)

Studs are still 3/8 unf .

Midland wheels do a good range.

For Cosmics that are fitted to my GT6 the wheel nuts turned out to be the same as MGB ones used for the Rostyle type MG wheels. Got a set of them from MOSS a few years back, not sure if they are right taper for reveolutions though?

Wim, get yer self some 12 mm studs, they easy to fit
and will be a darn sight better than the weeedy 3/8th studs

And at  at a min 35 yer olde, its a wonder they no snapped befoer noo
esp with spacers and wider wheels
Get em fitted, and you can then get thee,s to go with em

I'm maybe going to do the mod next year, for now i want to keep her on the road.
Mot is 4 weeks away, need to do a lot on her also & use her everyday for work.

My front studs where nearly a year old, so not the originals anymore.
At the back it also have new studs.

But for the back to change them to freelander studs you need to pull the hub off right ?  :-/
And can you still use the original steel wheels (need them for MOT/keuring).

I have heard of people cutting a hole in the backplate to allow stud replacement with the large diameter studs  and with the hub still in place. If you cut a round hole you can use a blanking grommet when the job is finished to seal up the hole.

Standard diameter (even the 47mm extended length studs) can be fitted with the hub in place as long as you remove the brake shoes, springs etc first.
