kiwiherald
Hi guys, could someone please tell me where I could find 12mm wheel studs for a 13/60? They seem impossible to find! Here's the catch, I'm in New Zealand :DThanks in advance, Aaron.

Gt6s
Hi I think you will need to hunt these out yourself as lengths differ, as far as i can recall I used sierra rears at some point even escorts. Rear drums usually means shorter studs, if you are not using spacers these are what you need. There again I also used Montego Maestro rears so Rovers also a good source, find an SD1 it will provide all the studs you need as front and rear studs are the same.. Avoid trying japanese cars, I found they mount in a smaller hole size so no goodGood hunting. What wheels are you fitting ?
kiwiherald
Thanks for that, I'll go for a good scrounge todayThe car's running standard steel wheels at the moment - the car already has 12mm studs all 'round, so they do fit :)
Nick Jones
Do you have Landrover Freelanders in NZ? Their wheel studs are perfect and can be bought cheaply new.Edit: The big advantage with Freelander ones is that they are threaded all the way down and they have same chamfered heads as the standard ones that fit without the fettling normally needed with other 12mm studsNickPic 1 it's the one in the middlePic 2 Installed. The catch is, you either have to remove the hub (hard) or drill a large hole in the brake back plate (easier)
Gt6s
Nick, That is exactly the same way as I fitted the long studs in the rear of my gt6 (spacers fitted to clear shock). WHO'S COPYING WHO ?

Gt6s
Just noticed Nick your Freelander studs are longer than original 3/8 item. SD1, Sierra rear, Montego / Maestro rear studs are only slightly longer than OE and fit without this mod.I used the short ones on my 2.5 swing spring spit. I only used the long ones on the Gt6 because I needed to use 3/4 inch spacers to clear shocks
kiwiherald
Thanks guys, I've found some that look like they'll fit - out of a Toyota van of all things! same length, thread and diameter as the ones in my car, I'll give them a bash when I've cut the broken one out!In regard to Freelanders, I've seen them, but they are quite rare and hard to find parts for.
