Jordon T Posted October 8, 2010 Share Posted October 8, 2010 [face=Times] Hey GuysIve got a set of 4 oval 5.5j wheels off a triumph gt6 but i want the original style steel rims for my vitesse 2-litre.So i was wondering whether anyone could tell me whether there worth anything or not?And has anyone got a set of standard wheelsI also have;- 5 chrome rims surrounds for 5.5j rims- 4 chrome rims surrounds for 4.5j rims which are for the oval type wheels. are they worth anything??cheers Jordan [/face] Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Clive Posted October 9, 2010 Share Posted October 9, 2010 Yep, those 5.5j's can fetch good money.BUT I ould add that as they are, and with the tyres attached etc their value will be a bit limited. Especially if you want them collected.Flipside is that if you have to pay to get the tyres removed, and them blasted and painted, you will have to pay out as much as the extra you will get. If you can get the tyres off for free/cheap, and give them a wire brush down and a rattlecan of paint to make them look respectable, that would be the way to go in terms of values.Had good results using a variety of wire brush attachments in a drill, or better angle grinder.
