moneypit
Hi I have wire wheels on my mk3 but the spline has gone on the o/s front. Does anyone know where I can get a good second hand one.??????
John Bonnett
Isn't second hand false economy given the price for a new one?

moneypit
I'm thinking about changing from spokes anyway as i keep hearing of problems with splines, I'm quite new to the classic car scene and appreciate any advice.
Pete Lewis
alloys and steels distort just a little on cornering, easy clean, use tubeless tyres , reliable, go where you point them Wires...take a video of a wire/spoked wheel and you wouldnt drive it anywhere, they bend all over the place unless special tubes blow flat with a puncture., look good. bitch to clean, hard to keep concentric, splines are problematic ,you either love Em or a money pit its alll down to looks and preferences most who go from wires to alloy etc cant believe the difference ...transforms the car just some ramblings Pete
Docman
It's been my experience that the splines on the adaptors wear prior and to a greater degree than the splines in the wheel hubs.DONOT bother with used adaptors.Used wires are not the best of ideas. Although I got my set for next to nothing and after a lot of time and money they weren't too bad, they still (obviously) weren't in the condition new ones would be. I eventually went with alloys.
